Dry rot and bugs had eaten away at this book for years. It was as rescued from a family estate and they wanted it back on the book shelf. We tore it down and repaired the signatures that had split in two; resewed them, added linen endsheets and bound them in goat skin. We were able to save the front panels from the original cover and onlaid them on the new leather. The spine was stamped in 23K gold.
